ZOVALOX POWDER FOR CONCENTRATE TO BE USED IN PREPARING SOLUTION FOR INFUSION 250 mg

Active ingredient: Each vial contains acyclovir sodium equivalent to 250 mg acyclovir.

Excipients: Contains sodium hydroxide (for pH adjustment), water for injection.

ZOVALOX contains acyclovir as the active ingredient. Acyclovir is a member of a group of drugs called “antivirals.”

ZOVALOX is an antiviral drug effective against viruses called Herpes simplex virus (HSV) and Varicella zoster virus (VZV).

ZOVALOX is indicated for the treatment of chickenpox, shingles, herpes, genital herpes and other inflammations caused by Herpes simplex. It prevents the recurrence of herpes, genital herpes and other herpes infections. It is used to prevent inflammation caused by Herpes simplex in patients with compromised immune systems.

ZOVALOX contains 1 vial containing white or whitish, slightly yellow lyophilized powder in each cardboard box.

Instructions for proper use and dosage/frequency of administration

Your doctor will determine the dose of your medicine depending on your disease and administer it to you.

The required dose of ZOVALOX should be administered intravenously slowly over a period of about 1 hour.

The dose may need to be adjusted depending on your child’s age, weight and disease. Your doctor will determine and administer your child’s medication dose depending on his disease.

The dose of ZOVALOX in newborns is calculated based on body weight.
