KLAVUNAT® DRY POWDER FOR PREPARING PEDIATRIC ORAL SUSPENSION 125 mg+31.25 mg/5 ml

Active ingredient: Each 5 mL contains 150.65 mg amoxicillin trihydrate, equivalent to 125 mg amoxicillin activity, and 78.55 mg potassium clavulanate, equivalent to 31.25 mg clavulanic acid activity.

Excipients: Hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, syloid Type AL-1 (silicon dioxide), xanthan gum, sodium saccharin, raspberry flavor, colloidal silicon dioxide

Before you start using this medicine, read this INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE carefully, because it contains important information for you.

CLAVUNATE is an antibiotic used in the treatment of infections and works by killing the bacteria that cause the infection. It contains two active ingredients, a penicillin called amoxicillin (as amoxicillin trihydrate) and clavulanic acid (as potassium clavulanate), which functions by preventing amoxicillin from inactivating.

KLAVUNATE is available in amber glass bottles with a level line in the form of a dry powder that yields a 100 mL suspension when reconstituted. It comes with a 5 mL measuring spoon.

KLAVUNAT is used in the treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms in the following cases.

Adults and children weighing 40 kg and above

This suspension is generally not recommended for adults and children weighing 40 kg and above. Get advice from your doctor or pharmacist.

Like all medicines, side effects may occur in people who are sensitive to the ingredients contained in KLAVUNAT. The following side effects may occur with the use of this medicine.

If any of the following occur, stop using KLAVUNAT and IMMEDIATELY inform your doctor or go to the emergency department of the nearest hospital.

If your child has any of these symptoms, contact a doctor immediately. Stop using KLAVUNAT.

These are all very serious side effects.

If your child has one of these, it means that your child has a serious allergy to CLAVUNATE. Emergency medical attention or hospitalization may be required.
