BRETICASONE NEBULIZATION SUSPENSION 0.5 mg/2 mL

It is drawn from the mouth into the lungs with the breath

Active ingredient: Each nebule contains 0.5 mg fluticasone propionate.

Excipient(s): Polysorbate 20, sorbitan monolaurate, monosodium phosphate dihydrate, anhydrous dibasic sodium phosphate, sodium chloride, water for injection.

Before you start using this medicine, read this INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE carefully, because it contains important information for you.

BRETICASONE contains fluticasone propionate. Fluticasone propionate is a member of the group of drugs called corticosteroids (also called steroids), and since it has an anti-inflammatory effect, it relieves breathing problems by reducing swelling and sensitivity in the walls of the airways in the lungs.

BRETICASONE helps prevent asthma attacks in patients requiring regular treatment. For this reason it is also called “preventive”. It should be used regularly every day.

BRETICASONE is not used to treat sudden asthma attacks where you feel short of breath.

BRETICASONE is supplied in plastic nebules providing 0.5 mg of fluticasone propionate per administration. The suspension has a white, opaque appearance. Each 5 nebules are contained in a foil pack and each cardboard box contains a total of 10 nebules in 2 separate foil bags.

BRETICASONE should not be confused with steroids such as anabolic steroids taken by tablet or injection, which are abused by some athletes.

Instructions for proper use and dosage/frequency of administration

Adults and adolescents over 16 years of age: 500-2000 micrograms twice daily*.

*1 0.5 mg/2 mL nebule: 500 mcg fluticasone propionate,

1 2 mg/2mL nebule: Contains 2000 mcg fluticasone propionate.

It may take a few days for this medicine to work and it is very important that you use your medicine regularly.

Like all medicines, BRETICASONE may have side effects in people who are sensitive to its ingredients.

If any of the following occur, stop using BRETICASONE and IMMEDIATELY inform your doctor or go to the emergency department of your nearest hospital.

These are all very serious side effects.

If you have one of these, it means you have a serious allergy to BRETICASONE. You may need emergency medical attention or hospitalization.

If your breathing or wheezing worsens, inform your doctor as soon as possible.
