GAVISCON DOUBLE ACTION ORAL SUSPENSION 500 mg + 213 mg + 325 mg/10 ml

Excipients: Carbomer, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), sodium saccharin, xanthan gum, mint flavor, sodium hydroxide and purified water.

GAVISCON DOUBLE ACTION is a mint-scented, cream-coloured, homogeneous suspension when shaken.

Each 10 ml single dose contains 500 mg sodium alginate, 213 mg sodium bicarbonate and 325 mg calcium carbonate as the active ingredient. Available in 200 ml bottles.

GAVISCON DOUBLE ACTION is used in the treatment of disorders/complaints related to excessive amounts of stomach acid following meals or during pregnancy, and complaints related to the reflux of stomach contents into the esophagus (gastroesophageal reflux), such as bitter, sour water coming into the mouth (acid regurgitation), burning sensation in the stomach or chest.

This medicine consists of a combination of two antacids and an alginate. The effect of the drug is purely physical.

GAVISCON DOUBLE ACTION interacts with stomach acid after ingestion. As a result of this interaction, a gel with neutral pH is formed that moves within the stomach. In this way, the frequency of acidic stomach contents leaking into the esophagus (gastroesophageal reflux) is reduced. In severe cases, this gel passes into the esophagus, preventing the stomach contents from coming into contact with the esophagus, protecting the mucosa from irritation and healing begins.

Always use your medicine in accordance with the instructions given by your doctor. Use your medicine regularly, every day. If you are not sure, check with your doctor or pharmacist.

Instructions for proper use and dosage/frequency of administration

For oral use. Shake well before use.

Dosage for adults and children over 12 years old; 10-20 ml (2-4 teaspoons) after meals and at bedtime (4 doses in total per day)

Like all medicines, side effects may occur in people who are sensitive to the ingredients contained in GAVISCON DOUBLE ACTION.

If any of the following occur, stop using GAVISCON DOUBLE ACTION and IMMEDIATELY inform your doctor or go to the emergency department of your nearest hospital.

These are all very serious side effects.

If you have one of these, it means you have a serious allergy to GAVISCON DOUBLE ACTION. You may need emergency medical attention or hospitalization.

All of these very serious side effects are extremely rare.
