COLIDUR FORT contains rifaximin as the active ingredient. COLIDUR FORT is an antibiotic that eliminates bacteria that settle in the intestine and cause hepatic encephalopathy. Hepatic encephalopathy; In sudden or chronic liver failure, harmful substances that the liver cannot clear are carried to the brain through the blood and cause disorders such as mental tension, aggression, confusion, muscle problems, difficulty in speaking and coma. COLIDUR FORT is used to reduce the recurrence of significant episodes of hepatic encephalopathy in adults with liver disease. It is used in the treatment of chronic gastrointestinal disorders characterized by abdominal pain, bloating, and changes in bowel regularity, with predominance of diarrhea.

COLIDUR FORT can be used alone or in combination with an intestinal softening medication commonly containing lactulose.

Instructions for proper use and dosage/frequency of administration

Always take COLIDUR FORT as your doctor tells you. If you are not sure, check with your doctor or pharmacist.

The recommended dose for COLIDUR FORT is two tablets per day. After 6 months of use, your doctor will evaluate you whether to continue treatment or not.

COLIDUR FORT is used three times a day for 14 days in the treatment of chronic gastrointestinal disorders characterized by diarrhea, predominant abdominal pain, distension and changes in bowel regularity. If your symptoms recur, your doctor may repeat your treatment.

Take the film-coated tablet out of the blister and swallow it whole with a glass of water.
