EYLEA® INTRAVITREAL SOLUTION FOR INJECTION 114.3 mg/mL

It is administered by intravitreal injection.

Active ingredient: Each 1 mL solution contains 114.3 mg aflibercept.

Excipients: Sucrose, arginine hydrochloride, histidine hydrochloride monohydrate, histidine, polysorbate 20, water for injection.

Instructions for proper use and dosage/frequency of administration

The recommended dose is 8 mg aflibercept per injection.

Your doctor injects EYLEA into your eye (intravitreal).

Before the injection, your doctor will carefully clean your eye using a disinfectant eyewash to prevent infection. Your doctor may also give you eye drops (regional anesthesia) to reduce or prevent any pain you may experience from the injection.

Because the indicated diseases mostly occur in adults, the safety and effectiveness of EYLEA in children and adolescents under 18 years of age have not been established. Therefore, it is not suitable for use in this age group.

Like all medicines, side effects may occur in people who are sensitive to the ingredients contained in EYLEA. Side effects of EYLEA injection are caused either by the medicine itself or by the injection procedure and mostly affect the eye.

If any of the following occur, stop using EYLEA and IMMEDIATELY inform your doctor or go to the emergency department of your nearest hospital.

There is a possibility of developing an allergic reaction (hypersensitivity with symptoms such as itching, rash, eyelid edema). These are all serious side effects. If you have one of these, consult your doctor immediately.

If you experience clouding of the lens of the eye (cataract), bleeding in the back of the eye (retinal hemorrhage), increased intraocular pressure and bleeding inside the eye (vitreous hemorrhage) after the injection, consult your doctor immediately. These are all serious side effects and are common.
