AMPOULE CONTAINING ONDAREN INJECTION SOLUTION 8 mg/4 ml

Active ingredient: Each ampoule contains 9,978 mg of onusetron hydrochloride dihydrate, equivalent to 8 mg of onasetron, as the active ingredient.

Excipient(s): Citric acid monohydrate, trisodium citrate dihydrate, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, water for injection.

Before you start using this medicine, read this INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE carefully, because it contains important information for you.

ONDAREN contains the active ingredient onasetron. It is available in one ampoule packages containing a colorless and clear solution for injection or infusion.

ONDAREN belongs to a group of medicines called anti-emetics. Some drug treatments (such as cancer drugs) can make you feel sick and vomit. ONDAREN prevents you from feeling sick or vomiting. ONDAREN is used to prevent nausea and vomiting due to cancer treatments with drugs and radiation. It is also used to prevent nausea and vomiting that occur after surgeries.

ONDAREN is given to prevent you from feeling sick and vomiting after treatment.

Instructions for proper use and dosage/frequency of administration

Your doctor will determine the dose of your medicine depending on your disease and administer it to you.

Repeated doses in all adult patients (including the elderly)

Repeated intravenous doses of onasetron should be administered at least 4 hours apart.

For the prevention of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting in adults (less than 75 years of age), a single intravenous dose of onasetron given should not exceed 16 mg (infused over at least 15 minutes).

Like all medicines, ONDAREN may have side effects in people who are sensitive to its ingredients. This medicine has not caused any problems in the majority of patients who use it.

If any of the following occur, stop using ONDAREN and IMMEDIATELY inform your doctor or go to the emergency department of your nearest hospital.

These are all very serious side effects.

If you have one of these, it means you have a serious allergy to ONDAREN. You may need emergency medical attention or hospitalization.
