NEXIUM® ENTERIC COATED PELLET TABLET 20 mg

Active ingredient: 22.3 mg esomeprazole magnesium trihydrate (equivalent to 20 mg esomeprazole)

Excipients: Glycerol monostearate, hyprolose, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, methacrylic acid ethyl acrylate copolymer, microcrystalline cellulose, artificial paraffin, macrogol, polysorbate 80, crospovidone, sodium stearyl fumarate, sugar spheres (sucrose and corn starch), talc, triethyl citrate, colorants: Iron oxide (E172). (red-brown, yellow), titanium dioxide (E 171).

NEXIUM contains the active ingredient esomeprazole and is one of the drugs known as “proton pump inhibitor” (PPI). These drugs show their effects by reducing the acid formation in your stomach.

NEXIUM 20 mg tablet is a light pink colored, rectangular shaped tablet with rounded corners, convex on both sides, film coated, bearing the imprint of 20 mg on one side and the other side.

Always use your medicine as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Consult your doctor and pharmacist if you are not sure.

Treating heartburn caused by gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

The recommended dose for the treatment of inflammation and pain in the esophagus (Erosive reflux esophagitis) is NEXIUM 40 mg once a day. Total treatment duration is 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the severity of the disease and your response to treatment.

To prevent recurrence of the disease, the recommended dose is NEXIUM 20 mg once a day.

Like all medicines, side effects may occur in people who are sensitive to the ingredients contained in NEXIUM.

If any of the following occur, stop using NEXIUM® and IMMEDIATELY inform your doctor or go to the emergency department of your nearest hospital.

These are all very serious side effects.
