SEFPOTEC contains the active ingredient cefpodoxime proxetil. It belongs to a group of antibiotics called cephalosporins. Antibiotics are used to treat infections caused by bacteria.

SEFPOTEC is in film tablet form and is taken orally. It is available in blister packaging containing 14 or 20 film-coated tablets in 1 box.

Below is the generally recommended dose and dosing frequency for adults:

Daily dose: 200 mg (1 film-coated tablet), taken as ½ film-coated tablet every 12 hours.

Daily dose is 200 mg (1 film-coated tablet), ½ film-coated tablet taken every 12 hours.

Daily dose is 400 mg (2 film-coated tablets), 1 film-coated tablet is taken every 12 hours.

Like all medicines, side effects may occur in people who are sensitive to the ingredients contained in SEFPOTEC.

If any of the following occur, stop using SEFPOTEC and IMMEDIATELY inform your doctor or go to the emergency department of your nearest hospital.

These are all very serious side effects.

If you have one of these, it means you have a serious allergy to SEFPOTEC. You may need emergency medical attention or hospitalization.
