MAXICILIN IM/IV INJECTION POWDER CONTAINING VIAL 1000 mg

It is administered into a vein (intravenous) or into a muscle (intramuscular).

Active ingredient: The vial (medicine bottle) containing powder for injection contains 1048.22 mg cefazolin sodium, equivalent to 1000 mg cefazolin. The product, prepared by diluting with 5 mL of sterile water for injection in the box, contains approximately 200 mg cefazolin per milliliter.

MAXICILIN is an antibiotic. Each vial contains 1000 mg cefazolin (as sodium). It is presented in packages containing 1 vial containing 1000 mg cefazolin (as sodium) and 1 solvent ampoule containing 5 ml sterile water for injection.

This product will be administered to you only intramuscularly or intravenously by your doctor.

MAXICILIN, which contains sterile water for injection as a solvent, can be administered intravenously or intramuscularly. When prepared using lidocaine hydrochloride as the solvent, it should be administered intramuscularly only.

*In rare cases, up to 12 grams per day has been used.
